Hey, that Mr. Jean? He was onto something. Good advice for just about every high school guy I’ve ever met, including my own self. Since I was on the panel that evaluated Kyle, I wrote it down and wrapped it in highlighter. That’s the teacher’s signature below the quote. Perhaps I’ll frame it and send it off to college with Kyle in the fall.
Hey, you high school students: Kyle went to a very different kind of school than you. Or his brother Eric. A charter school, his high school is project-based. Which means what, exactly? Well, it means, in part, that from sixth grade until today’s high school graduation ceremony he received a total of two text books. As opposed to Eric, whose high school issues him six or seven per semester. (Eric wears out backpacks a lot faster.)
